International World Mangrove Day

International Day for the Conservation of the Mangrove Ecosystem, (AKA: World Mangrove Day), is the day that the world recognises and celebrates the importance of Mangrove Ecosystems.

You can restore Mangroves everyday!

Support mangrove restoration today.

Every tree planted helps protect our climate, our oceans, and our people.

Mangroves cover less than 1% of tropical forests worldwide, yet they are among the most effective ecosystems for storing carbon, locking away up to 4x more CO₂ than rainforests.
They shield coastal communities from storms, provide nursery grounds for fish, and act as natural water filters.

Despite this, over 35% of global mangrove forests have been lost in the last few decades due to deforestation, aquaculture, and rising sea levels. Each loss erodes both climate resilience and community livelihoods.

At ON A MISSION, we support community-led mangrove restoration projects, planting new propagules, protecting coastlines, and creating jobs that strengthen local economies.
