Papua New Guinea Project
Restoring degraded forests in Papua New Guinea through community-led reforestation and regenerative agriculture, while creating sustainable livelihoods.

The Wampamun Project is based in Gutzuap village, Umi-Atzera LLG, Markham District of Morobe Province.
The project aims to reforest degraded plots while empowering communities through training and alternative land-use practices. The initiative combines tree seedling production, planting, and long-term monitoring. Local households are engaged in sensitization lessons on the importance of indigenous tree species, biodiversity conservation, and the role of forests in climate resilience.
Training in regenerative agriculture equips farmers with sustainable practices that improve soil health and reduce pressure on forests. The ultimate goal is to restore ecosystems while creating sustainable livelihoods, ensuring that communities benefit from both environmental and economic resilience.
By integrating conservation with community well-being, the project provides a model for long-term sustainability in Papua New Guinea.
